Platte Purcase Mural

The Pony Express National Museum recently unveiled the Platte Purchase Mural. This mural, which graced the Pony Bar’N of the historic Hotel Robidoux for over 30 years, is the work of famous artist George Gray. Peggy Van Witt of Van Witt Fine Art Conservation treated and framed the mural, restoring it to its original beauty.

Questers’ Westward Gateway Chapter 1066 received an international grant in 2018 for their Preservation and Restoration Grant Project which funded the restoration of 14 additional framed art pieces through “Preserving the Legacy of the Pony Express Museum through It’s Art”. A horseshoe will be placed on the museum lobby Donor Wall honoring their chapter for their work.
