Group Tours Profile Sheet

Adult Groups

Looking for an unforgettable group visit or day trip? Gather with friends, family or colleagues (typically 20 or more people) and a knowledgeable friendly guide will walk with you through the thrilling years of the Pony Express. Spend an hour with us as we share with you the personal stories of the business men who gave all they had to finance and support the Pony Express national historic site, and learn about the daring riders and their historic rides. Self-guided tours are also available, as well as our new video tour.

Whether you arrive on motorcycle or motor coach, we have plenty of parking space. We offer complimentary passes for your escorts and drivers, and our handicapped-accessible museum makes it easy for all visitors to enjoy the exhibits.

Visitors nationwide and from across the globe love our museum store. Take a slice of 1860s history with you from our gift store where you’ll find books, toys, collector items, clothing and more. While you’re here, explore our other nearby museums and our St. Joseph downtown area’s unique shops and restaurants — located just down the trail from our stable doors. It makes for a perfect day trip from Kansas City, Weston, Atchison, Omaha, Lincoln and many other locations.

Now is your special opportunity to learn about two amazing elements of American western history at the same time – Buffalo Bill and the Pony Express. The Buffalo Bill exhibit includes items on loan from the Buffalo Bill Museum in Golden, Co., and will be open until December 2016.

Corporate Events

At the Pony Express Museum, we’re here to help you make business meetings more interesting and a more engaging experience. Our Community Room offers ample seating and tables, with room dividers to adjust it to your design. A full kitchen and restrooms are also connected to the Community Room for even more convenience. Complete your business meeting with guided museum tours and let your attendees be inspired by the legend and spirit of the Pony Express.

Family reunions are even more special at the Pony Express National Museum. Spin some local history into your gathering by accessing our museum space, Community Room and our Pony School one room schoolhouse. The park located just across the street has a sand play area for children and plenty of green grass and benches. Before or after your tour, you can reserve our spacious Community Room for your meeting or for a catered meal for your group.
