Group Visits & Tours

Plan a meaningful group experience at the Pony Express National Museum. From guided tours and educational programs to corporate events and family gatherings, we offer engaging ways for groups of all sizes to explore the history and legacy of the Pony Express together.

Adult Groups

Looking for an unforgettable group visit or day trip? Gather with friends, family, or colleagues (typically groups of 20 or more), and a knowledgeable, friendly guide will walk with you through the thrilling years of the Pony Express.

Spend about an hour with us as we share the personal stories of the businessmen who gave all they had to finance and support the Pony Express National Historic Site, and learn about the daring riders and their historic rides. Self-guided tours are also available, along with our video tour option.

Adult Group Tours

Whether you arrive by motorcycle or motor coach, we offer ample parking for groups. Complimentary passes are provided for escorts and drivers, and our handicapped-accessible museum ensures all visitors can comfortably enjoy the exhibits.

Visitors from across the nation and around the world enjoy our museum store. Take home a piece of 1860s history with books, toys, collectible items, clothing, and more. While visiting, explore nearby museums and the St. Joseph downtown area’s unique shops and restaurants, located just down the trail from our stable doors. This makes for a perfect day trip from Kansas City, Weston, Atchison, Omaha, Lincoln, and surrounding areas.

Special Exhibits (Historical Reference)

At various times, the museum has hosted special exhibits highlighting other important chapters of American western history. These exhibits have included unique loaned artifacts and interpretive displays that complement the story of the Pony Express.

Corporate Events

Make your business meetings more engaging at the Pony Express National Museum. Our Community Room offers ample seating and tables, with room dividers that allow the space to be configured to your needs.

A full kitchen and restrooms are connected to the Community Room for added convenience. Complete your meeting with a guided museum tour and inspire your attendees with the legend and spirit of the Pony Express.

Family Reunions & Gatherings

Family reunions are even more memorable at the Pony Express National Museum. Incorporate local history into your gathering by accessing museum spaces, the Community Room, and the Pony School one-room schoolhouse.

A park located directly across the street features a sand play area for children, along with green space and benches. Before or after your museum visit, the Community Room can be reserved for meetings or catered meals, making it easy to host your entire event in one location.

Group Catering

Group catering options are available to complement museum tours and events.

To make arrangements for group catering, please contact Cindy at the Pony Express National Museum. Catering options can be tailored to fit a variety of budgets and group needs.
